As referenced in its consultation document on automatically renewable contracts, Ofcom has today published Annex 8 to the consultation document. Annex 8, a supplement to Annex 7, provides clarification on certain aspects of the econometric analysis. A link to this document can be found below.
Update note - 03/05/11
Following requests from stakeholders, Ofcom has extended the deadline for responses to the Automatically Renewable Contracts consultation to 5pm on Thursday 19 May 2010.
Update note - 21/09/11
Please note that, following stakeholder comment, Ofcom has today updated the Guidance from the version published in Annex 3 of its Statement, Automatically Renewable Contracts: Decision on a General Condition to prohibit ARCs, dated 13 September 2011. Links to the updated Guidance (in Annex 3 of the Statement and as a standalone document) can be found below. The purpose of the Guidance is to assist Communications Providers comply with their obligations under General Condition 9.3. The updated part of the Guidance relates to arrangement for the stop-sell of ARCs and the migration of existing ARCs customers, setting out how Communications Providers might adopt a reasonable and flexible approach for customers who are in a subsequent (or further) initial minimum commitment period. It is this updated version of the Guidance which Ofcom will apply moving forward.
