Draft Notice of Invitation to Apply for Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) Multiplex B Capacity

On 10 June 2008 the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport laid before the UK parliament The Television Multiplex Services (Reservation of Digital Capacity) Order 2008 (the Order). The Order authorises Ofcom to reorganise services on DTT and allocate capacity on Multiplex B pursuant to a competition between public service broadcasters. The Order must sit before Parliament for 21 days after which it is expected to come into force and may be acted upon.
On 11 June Ofcom published a draft Statutory Notice of Invitation to Apply for DTT Multiplex B Capacity that sets out what will be required of applicants who wish to bid for Multiplex B capacity. The Order is expected to come into force on 2 July after which Ofcom will publish the formal Statutory Notice of Invitation to Apply for DTT Multiplex B Capacity.
