Simplifying Non-geographic Numbers - Detailed proposals on the unbundled tariff and Freephone
Consultation published 04|04|2012
Update 22 May 2012
This note is to inform stakeholders that we are postponing the publication of the statutory consultation on the wording of draft conditions and modifications to existing General Conditions and the Numbering Plan, which would give effect to the changes to the regulation of non-geographic numbers that we are proposing in this consultation.
We have decided first to conduct a wider review of the clarity and accessibility of the Numbering Plan and the General Conditions that refer to it. We intend to consult during the course of this year on any modifications to those instruments that we decide may be appropriate as a result of our review. Consequently, in the event that we decide to implement our proposed changes to non-geographic numbers, the draft conditions and modifications, which we consider necessary to implement them, will be published for consultation as part of the statement setting out our conclusions on the unbundled tariff and Freephone. We are aiming to publish this by the end of 2012.
Our consultation sets out the substance of draft conditions and modifications which we consider would be needed to implement the unbundled tariff proposal at 13.74 13.77 and the Freephone proposal at 17.126 17.130. We encourage stakeholders to comment on these outlines as part of their response to the wider consultation proposals.
