Nineteen per cent of homes in Northern Ireland were mobile-only in Q1 2012

Similar to the UK as a whole, nearly eight in ten households in Northern Ireland (77%) used both fixed and mobile telephony in Q1 2012, while 19% used only mobile telephony, one of the highest proportions among the UK nations (Figure 5.8). The proportion of homes that were mobile-only increased by four percentage points in the year to Q1 2012, although this change falls within the survey’s error margins.
